Remember Your HVAC Tech on June 22

Heater Troubleshooting in Roseville, MI

As you’re sitting back in your cool home or office this summer, you might wonder what life would be like without air conditioning.

For those of us in Detroit, summer days when the temperature reaches over 90 degrees aren’t an everyday occurrence. But if you and your family head down South to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or Disneyland, you know how important the AC can be. Can you imagine a business conference in August in Atlanta without air conditioning?

And, while we average about 83° F in July here in southeast Michigan, it’s still nice to have cool air when the weather outside is hot and humid.

But harken back to this past winter. Some days were -3°F.

Can you imagine if the heat went out and there was no one around to fix it?

That’s why, this June 22, we should all show our appreciation for our HVAC techs on National HVAC Tech Day.

History of the Day

The day was founded in 2016 by a national HVAC service provider. It was created to honor the unsung heroes of modern comfort. These are the technicians who keep our homes cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

These hard-working men and women are called out to fix our ACs and our furnaces in the most inclement weather. They often have to crawl around in dark and murky places to reach these units. And they are often called upon to manage complex systems that regulate our air quality, temperature and ventilation.

At C & C Heating & Air Conditioning, it’s our heating, ventilation and air conditioning techs who make our business what it is today. Our HVAC techs are highly trained and qualified technicians. They undergo annual background checks, random drug testing, extensive and ongoing technical training, and are North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certified.

We’re proud of our techs and the work they do.

Ways to Show Appreciation

But if you don’t run an HVAC company, what are some ways you can show your appreciation for the hard work these techs do? Here are some ways:

  • Say Thanks. Send an email of appreciation to your HVAC company, or simply say “thanks” if you happen to have one working in your home this month.
  • Go on Social Media. You can also show your appreciation by saying “thank you” on your social media channels using the hashtag #NationalHVACTechDay.
  • Treat Them to a Meal. If you’re ambitious, you might send them some gift cards to some local lunch spots or even cater a meal.
  • Take Care of Your System. But, if you really want to treat them to a special event, take good care of your HVAC system. By simply changing the filter regularly and calling in your favorite HVAC team for annual maintenance, you can make their job easier in the long run.

So, on June 22, let’s all celebrate the HVAC technician! Without them, our productivity during the hottest and coldest months of the year would be diminished. And our creature comforts would be destroyed.

And, if C & C can help you with any of your HVAC needs, feel free to call us at (586) 439-3319 or contact us online.
